Booking terms
These terms apply when you reserve a room at Applause Hotels Ltd, whether online, by telephone or in person. Please read them before you book — making a reservation means you accept them.

1. Who you are contracting with
Applause Hotels Ltd, Plot 30-45 Federal Housing, Rumuodomaya, Obio/Akpor LGA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria ("the hotel", "we", "us"). You can reach us on +234 813 535 7533 or at Applausehotel@applausehotel.online.
2. Making a reservation
A reservation is a contract between you and the hotel. It is confirmed only when we have received payment and issued you a booking reference in the form AH-XXXXXX. Until then no room is held for you.
The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for the conduct of everyone in the party and for all charges arising from the stay.
We may decline a booking. If we do, any payment taken is refunded in full.
3. Rates and what they include
Rooms are priced per night in Nigerian naira. Nights are not all the same price: Monday to Thursday nights are charged at the weekday rate, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at the weekend rate. A stay spanning both is charged night by night, and the full breakdown is shown before you pay.
The total shown at checkout is the total you pay for the room. We do not add a service charge afterwards. Anything you order during your stay — food, drinks, laundry, calls — is charged separately and settled before departure.
Rates can change at any time, but never for a booking already confirmed.
4. Payment
Online bookings are paid in full at the time of booking. Payment is handled by Paystack; your card details are entered on their secure page and are never seen or stored by us. We keep the transaction reference, the amount and your booking details.
We may ask for a valid card or a cash deposit on arrival against extras and incidentals. Anything unused is released or refunded at checkout.
5. Arrival and departure
Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 12:00 noon.
Earlier arrival and later departure are subject to availability and must be agreed with reception. Departing after 12:00 noon without agreement may be charged as a further night. Rooms not vacated by 2:00 pm will be charged at the full nightly rate.
Every guest must present valid photographic identification at check-in — an international passport, national identity card, driver's licence or permanent voter card. This is a legal requirement in Nigeria and we cannot check in a guest without it.
If you expect to arrive late, please tell us. Rooms are held until midnight on the arrival date; after that an unclaimed booking is treated as a no-show under clause 7.
6. Changing or cancelling a booking
You may cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your arrival date. Cancel within 48 hours of arrival and we charge the first night; the balance is refunded.
To change dates, call reception. We will do what we can, subject to availability. If the new dates cost more, the difference is payable; if they cost less, the difference is refunded.
Refunds are made to the card or account used for the original payment and typically reach you within ten working days, depending on your bank.
If we have to cancel your booking for any reason within our control, you receive a full refund, and we will help you find comparable accommodation nearby wherever we can.
7. No-shows and early departure
If you do not arrive and have not cancelled, the first night is charged and the remainder of the booking is released.
If you leave earlier than booked, nights already occupied are charged in full. Unused nights are refunded only where we agreed the change before departure.
8. Occupancy, guests and visitors
Each room has a stated maximum occupancy and we cannot exceed it, for fire-safety reasons. If your party is larger than the room allows, book an additional room or call reception.
Guests may receive visitors in the public areas. Visitors to guest rooms must be registered at reception and must leave by 10:00 pm. Anyone staying overnight is charged as a guest.
Children are welcome and must be supervised by an adult at all times.
9. Conduct and our right to refuse
We ask guests to respect other guests and our staff, and to keep noise down between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
We may refuse entry, or end a stay without refund, where behaviour is threatening, unlawful, or makes the hotel unusable for others — and we will do so where staff or guests are put at risk.
Smoking is not permitted in guest rooms or indoor public areas. Where a room requires specialist cleaning as a result, the cost is charged to the guest.
Pets are not permitted, except for recognised assistance animals.
10. Damage and loss
You are responsible for any loss or damage caused by you or your party to the room, its contents, or the hotel's property. We will charge the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, and will show you the basis of any such charge.
11. Your property
We take reasonable care of the compound, which is walled, gated and lit overnight, with parking inside the gate. Even so, please do not leave valuables unattended in public areas or in vehicles. We are not liable for loss of or damage to property left unattended.
Items left behind are kept for thirty days where practical. Contact reception as soon as you notice something missing.
12. Matters outside our control
We are not liable for failure to provide accommodation caused by events beyond our reasonable control — power or water failure beyond our own systems, flooding, storm, fire, civil unrest, government action, or similar. Where such an event prevents your stay, we refund payments made for nights not provided.
13. Limits on liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability arising from a booking is limited to the total amount you paid for it.
14. If something goes wrong
Please tell reception straight away — most things we can put right on the spot, and we would much rather know while you are still with us. If it is not resolved, write to Applausehotel@applausehotel.online and we will respond.
15. Your personal information
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy notice, and what this site stores on your device in our cookie policy.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Rivers State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
